Royal Elastics & Andy Warhol

Royal Elastics was founded in 1996 by a pair of teenagers in Sydney, Australia. The concept behind the brand was simply to use elastic bands, rather than laces, to secure feet in shoes - a concept which promoted a laid-back lifestyle with a ‘quirky’ and easygoing sense of humour. The company has in fact collaborated with the Warhol Foundation once before, with the a collection of footwear launching back in 2006.
For this new 2012 collaboration, Royal Elastics have let the shoes function as a canvas for Warhol’s iconic work, as well as adding unique twists in the material selection, random artwork placements, and individual numbering elements.
The collection consists of three silhouettes, with two colourways in each shoe.

To see the complete Royal Elastics & Andy Warhol collaboration, visit the Royal Elastics website. The collection is available to purchase now through the Royal Elastics online store, or from select outlets worldwide such as Hanon
